When I first created Jake Matthews Studio, my goal was simple: to share my work and connect with an audience far and near. As the "studio" part was temporarily added, I realized that art isn’t just for one type of person—it’s for everyone. My vision evolved to embrace the idea that art has the power to connect with people from all walks of life, sparking emotion and meaning in unexpected ways. It’s not just about reaching a specific audience; it’s about creating a space where everyone can find something that resonates with them.
With this newfound mission, I challenge myself to create works I’ve never thought of before, works that speak to everyone, but still allow me to remain true to who I am. Jake Matthews Studio is not just a place to showcase my art, but a reflection of my growth as an artist and my commitment to sharing the richness of all the worlds I see through my eyes. Jake Matthews is an artist from Buffalo, New York, and most of his inspiration comes from the beauty he sees in simple things. When attending Ringling College of Art and Design, he quickly familiarized himself with the many types of illustration. Most of the artwork Jake does is traditional, but he also likes to combine traditional with digital techniques. He is constantly challenging himself by branching out and adapting to new mediums, techniques, and styles. While also trying to improve his work aesthetically and conceptually. His goal is to aspire to become a better artist and learn as much as he possibly can.
